June 16 Application of Fluoride-free Contaminated Coatings on Hundred Ships

Intersleek 900, the uncontaminated coating of International Paints Co., Ltd., was recently painted on the ships of Japan's Kawasaki Steamboat Co., Ltd. So far, the new non-staining paint has been applied on 100 ships. This indicates that its application has matured and has been widely recognized by shipowners worldwide.
It is understood that the "International Convention on the Control of Harmful Anti-fouling Systems for Ships" adopted by the International Maritime Organization will be formally implemented on September 17 this year, and toxic anti-fouling paints containing bio-pesticides will be eliminated. Intersleek 900 is an alternative to harmful anti-fouling coatings. It uses patented fluoropolymer technology and has good environmental performance. Compared with self-polishing copolymer antifouling coatings containing bio-pesticides, their energy consumption and exhaust emissions can be reduced by 6%.
According to the introduction of International Paint Co., Ltd., the coating can make the surface of the hull exceptionally smooth and has good mechanical wear resistance. The use of the coating can also reduce the number of docking, sandblasting and reduce maintenance costs, and reduce the amount of paint.
