China's top ten auto manufacturers re-ranked sales of Changhe Gold Cup

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, January 13 (Reporter Zhang Yi) According to the latest statistics released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers on the 13th, the top ten manufacturers that accounted for over 80% of China’s auto market share were reshuffled in 2005. Among the top ten sales companies, FAW, SAIC, and Dongfeng still ranked in the top three. Changhe and Jinbei went out and Chery and Geely entered the competition for the first time.

The fourth and tenth places are Chang'an, Beiqi, Guangzhou Automobile, Hafei, Chery, JAC and Geely.

According to the statistics from the China Automobile Association, the top five groups of FAW, SAIC, Dongfeng, Chang'an, and Beiqi each sold more than 500,000 vehicles, reaching 983,100 vehicles, 917,500 vehicles, 720,900 vehicles, 631,100 vehicles, and 599,300 vehicles respectively. Compared with the previous year, due to the poor sales of commercial vehicles, FAW sales fell slightly from the previous year, and Dongfeng and BAIC showed more obvious growth. Dongfeng increased by nearly 40%, and BAIC grew by more than 12%.

Chery Automobile, which entered the top ten domestic automakers for the first time, sold 189,000 vehicles last year, an increase of 118% year-on-year. Geely Automobile is the only private enterprise among the top ten auto manufacturers in China. In 2005, the auto sales reached 149,000 units, an increase of 49%.
