According to the deployment of the Hunan Automobile Industry Development Symposium held in February 2010, by the end of the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan†period, the total vehicle production capacity in Hunan will strive to reach 2 million vehicles, and the output value of the automobile industry will reach 300 billion yuan, and the total scale will reach the top ten in the country. Nearly 2.2 billion yuan in 2009, the total industrial output value of 6.8 billion yuan, profits and taxes 750 million yuan, employing more than 15,000 people.
On July 21st, 2010, Hengyang signed a contract with Hunan Xingma Automobile to produce 10,000 heavy-duty trucks.
In fact, Hengyang is determined to build a demonstration base for the auto parts industry in the province. The bigger dream lies in the production of passenger vehicles. At present, Hengyang has the production capacity of major engines and almost all spare parts. The next step is to attract passenger vehicle manufacturers to enter.
