·BMW surpasses Mercedes-Benz to win the US luxury car sales in May

According to a report by Bloomberg on June 3, BMW defeated Mercedes-Benz and topped the US luxury car sales list in May, mainly thanks to its entry-level luxury cars and the promotion of fashion crossovers.

BMW's sales in the US rose 17% in May, with sales of SPORTS utility vehicles and crossovers such as the BMW X3 soaring 81%. In May, sales totaled 5,723, more than double the number of last year.

Mercedes-Benz sold a total of 26,617 vehicles in the United States in May, up 7.7% year-on-year, of which Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan sales rose 35%, and Mercedes-Benz S-class luxury car series sales surged 83%.

Luxury car brands such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi are attracting new customers with low-priced models while maintaining the loyalty of old customers. As real estate values climb, interest rates remain low, and new customers in the luxury car market, including young people, are on the rise.

BMW sold 29,602 cars in the United States in May, surpassing Mercedes-Benz, and won the top spot in the US's best-selling luxury car brand so far this year.

Up to now, in 2014, Mercedes-Benz sold a total of 125,118 vehicles, up 6.5% year-on-year, while BMW sold a total of 127,181 vehicles, up 12% year-on-year, exceeding the total sales of Mercedes-Benz in 2000.

Entry-level luxury car

In May, Mercedes-Benz sold 1,214 entry-level coupe CLAs, which sold for less than $30,000 (approximately RMB 187,500). It helped Mercedes-Benz surpass BMW and win the 2013 US luxury car sales championship. These sales include only luxury models, and do not include Mercedes-Benz parent company Daimler's trucks and Smart micro-cars, nor BMW's MINI series.

Other luxury car manufacturers also released sales in the US market in May on the 3rd. The Volkswagen Group's Audi brand sold 16,601 vehicles in May, up 25%, with Audi A4 sales up 6% to 3,123, and entry-level new Audi A3s selling 2,261. As of May, Audi has set a record for sales in the United States for 41 consecutive months. May is also the second month in Audi's history of sales in the United States. Since the beginning of the year, Audi has sold a total of 67,482 vehicles in the United States, an increase of 11% year-on-year.

GM revealed that North American annual model winner Cadillac ATS sales fell 23% to 2,497 units last year. Year-to-date, the cumulative sales of the Cadillac brand was 68,176 units, down 2% year-on-year.

A tire (American English) or tyre (British English) is a ring-shaped vehicle component that covers the wheel's rim to protect it and enable better vehicle performance. Most tires, such as those for automobiles and bicycles, provide traction between the vehicle and the road while providing a flexible cushion that absorbs shock.

A bicycle tire is a tire that fits on the wheel of a bicycle, Unicycle, tricycle, quadracycle, bicycle trailer, or trailer bike. They may also be used on wheelchairs and hand cycles, especially for racing. Bicycle tires provide an important source of suspension, generate the lateral forces necessary for balancing and turning, and generate the longitudinal forces necessary for propulsion and braking. They are the second largest source, after air drag, of power consumption on a level road.[1] The modern detachable pneumatic bicycle tire contributed to the popularity and eventual dominance of the safety bicycle.
