Beijing Public Transport will upgrade 56 services

The "Opinions of the Beijing Municipal People's Government on Accelerating the Development of Public Transportation to Improve Service and Management Level" was recently published on the website of the Capital. In the next two years, the upgrade measures in the public transport service sector will be categorized into 56 tasks, of which 12 will be implemented this year. For example, four BRTs are expected to achieve a full-course track and run out of “subway speed”.

By the end of 2017, the city’s rail transit mileage will reach 600 kilometers, the total length of bus lanes will reach 480 kilometers and form a network, and 300 kilometers of pedestrian walkways and bicycle lanes will have better facilities. Zhou Zhengyu, the director of the Municipal Traffic Commission, said that the implementation of the new fare system is the starting point for the city's public transportation to create quality services. Beijing will comprehensively improve the convenience, safety, and comfort of public transportation from this year.

Ground Transportation:

Develop a dedicated road network plan during the year

In the future, the ground bus lines will no longer eat “big pot rice” and enter the fine management mode. The six types of positioning that have been identified are the Bus Express Line, the Urban Public Line, the Microcirculation Line, the Suburban Connection Line, the Suburban Line, and the Customized Public Transit Line. These six types of lines are intertwined and merged with the “two networks” of rail transit.

However, the biggest highlight of ground transportation is the development of bus lanes. Three of the 12 tasks to be completed this year are related to it.

This year, this Municipality will study the preparation of a bus-only road network plan, promote the Beijing-Tibet Expressway and the Fourth Ring Road busway planning work, and propose an implementation plan for the integration of regular bus lines and the opening of a commuter express train. By the end of 2015, four large-capacity BRT lines, such as Nanzhong Axis Road, Chaoyang Road, Anli Road, and Yanshi Road, are expected to implement bus lanes across the board. This year, the city will implement the optimization and adjustment of 40 ground bus lines and vigorously develop micro-circulation bus lines. By the end of the year, the city will update 2,100 electric-driven buses and natural gas buses. By the end of 2017, the proportion of electric buses and natural gas buses within the Fifth Ring Road will reach 70%; at the same time, all non-air-conditioned vehicles will be updated to air-conditioned vehicles. At the same time, a number of existing lines will be upgraded during the year. Among them, Line 5, Line 6, Line 10, Line 15, Daxing Line and Yizhuang Line will shorten the interval between peak hours and increase the capacity by 5% to 15%.

By the end of 2017, Line 16 will be opened for trial operation, Line 13 will be increased to Tsinghua East Station and Building Materials City Station; Line 7, Line 8, Line 13, Line 14, Changping Line, and Fangshan Line will have higher transportation capacity. . Line 1 toilets on Line 1, Line 2, Line 13 and Batong Line will be remodeled. Handicapped waiting signs, guiding signs, and safety warning signs on lines 13 and 8 will be improved, and seats will be added to some qualified stations.

Before the end of this year, the safety gates of Line 13 and Baton will be put into use. Before the end of 2017, the safety gates of Line 1 and Line 2 were put into use. By then, all subway lines in the city will have a screened door. The video surveillance coverage of existing lines will also increase. This kind of transfer includes many kinds. For example, the city will increase the investment and financing reforms for comprehensive transportation hubs and public transportation stations, and build a number of infrastructure such as bus charging line networks, charging stations, filling stations, and vehicle maintenance stations.

The three-dimensional transfer reconstruction project at the overpass area will also be launched, and a number of bay-type bus stations will be completed.

Newly opened subway stations will have ground transportation and bicycle facilities. Some key new towns will also pilot the operation of pure electric mini buses. At the station where conditions permit, parking and parking will be added.

The first and last stations of the bus will also be collectively reconstructed, with new platforms, shelters, guardrails, rest areas for old and young, ill and pregnant passengers, and so on. At the same time, the station will fully cover halfway stations. In 2015, five suburban passenger terminals are expected to start construction.
