·AQSIQ intervened to investigate Land Rover China to recognize aurora defects

After the quality inspection department intervened, Land Rover China’s attitude came at a 180-degree turn.
CCTV "3.15" party exposure Luther Aurora transmission may have security flaws, Land Rover China issued an official statement the next day, refused to admit that the Aurora transmission may have potential safety hazards, and argued that from January 19 on the initiative to the latest transmission software upgrade.
According to the reporter of China Industry Network, the Shanghai Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau directly under the AQSIQ has instructed Land Rover China to submit relevant vehicle technical information and conduct further investigations. Usually, this is the preparatory step for the AQSIQ to initiate a mandatory recall.
On the afternoon of March 17, the reporter of China National Engineering Network dialed the phone number of Wang Yan, Executive Vice President of Jaguar Land Rover China. He wanted to interview and get a reply on relevant issues. In response, Land Rover China acknowledged that Aurora's "9-speed transmission failure was caused by a mismatch in gearbox software." The company has received feedback since the first half of 2014, and the related issues reflect a total of more than 900 cases. Aurora has 36,451 vehicles with hidden transmission problems.
The company also said that the 2015 domestic Land Rover Range Rover Aurora, which began sales in March, is equipped with a 9-speed transmission that is the latest state, and there is no problem with the fault batch. However, some people in the industry said that the design flaws of this transmission can not be solved, and CCTV reports that many owners still have problems after software upgrade or replacement of new transmissions.
