The Ministry of Environmental Protection reported on July 27th that the national environmental quality status in the first half of 2015 showed that the average ratio of days for reaching the new standards of air quality in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta, and 74 key cities was 68.0%, an increase of 6.9 over the same period of last year. percentage point. Of the 74 key cities, the lower 10 cities with relatively poor air quality (from No. 74 to No. 65) were Baoding, Xingtai, Zhengzhou, Tangshan, Shijiazhuang, Hengshui, Jinan, Handan, Shenyang, and Taiyuan, respectively. The top 10 cities with relatively good quality (from No. 1 to No. 10) were Haikou, Lhasa, Huizhou, Zhoushan, Xiamen, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Kunming and Fuzhou.

Luo Yi, Director of the Environmental Monitoring Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, introduced that in the first half of 2015, the National Environmental Monitoring Network continued to monitor environmental factors such as ambient air, acid rain, surface water, centralized drinking water sources, coastal waters, and urban noise. A total of 1,436 national control sites in 338 prefecture-level and above cities nationwide conducted air quality monitoring. A total of 1011 sites in 470 cities (regions and counties) monitored acid rain, seven basins and the southwest, northwest, and Zhejiang provinces. A total of 956 national control sections (points) of the river have carried out monitoring of surface water quality, 325 cities at the prefecture level and above have carried out water quality monitoring of centralized drinking water sources, and 301 monitoring sites in coastal waters have carried out monitoring of seawater quality. 291 cities have carried out monitoring of the acoustic environment quality of functional areas.

According to the monitoring, according to the “Ambient Air Quality Standards” (GB3095-2012), the proportion of days for reaching the national standard for 338 prefecture-level cities and above is between 5.5% and 100%, with an average of 72.7%. The proportion of the average number of days exceeded was 27.3%, among which 18.7% were mild pollution, 5.2% moderately polluted, 2.7% severely polluted, and 0.7% severely polluted. The primary pollutant is PM2.5.
