What are the mine drainage methods?

During the underground mining process, a large amount of groundwater will flood into the working surface, affecting the normal production of the mine. It is necessary to take appropriate measures to discharge the groundwater to the surface to ensure the safety of the mine operation.
There are two types of mine drainage methods: self-flow and ascending. Self-flowing drainage is the most economical way to drain water from the pit to the ground. It is only suitable for mines that are developed in Pingyi. Lifting drainage is to use water to lift the water to the ground. Mines that use wellbore development must use this method.
Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of the lift-up drainage. The groundwater is collected along the water channel of the stage roadway into the water tank near the bottom of the well, and then lifted to the ground by the water pump. The water tank is actually an underground tunnel, which is about 3~4m lower than the elevation of the bottom hole yard. At normal circumstances, it can accommodate the water inflow of 8h underground. In this way, on the one hand, the pump can be operated normally for a long time, on the other hand, when the mine water surge suddenly increases, or when the pump needs to be shut down for maintenance, there is safety guarantee.
