GE wins 23 LNG ship power promotion orders

France's August 8 news, GE's Power Conversion business unit recently received a series of orders from Korean shipping companies, will install electric propulsion systems for 23 new LNG ships, and strengthen GE as the main supplier of LNG ship electric propulsion technology market status.
It is reported that the order comes from Daewoo Shipbuilding and Hyundai Heavy Industries of South Korea, with a total propulsion power of 1105 MW.
GE's contract scope includes MV7000 inverters, asynchronous motors, transformers, generators, main switchboards and cargo switchboards, and propulsion control systems. All propulsion motors are produced at GE's Nancy plant in France, while the propulsion system is carried out at GE's Premier Merchant Marine Center in Belfort, France. GE's motors and frequency converters are optimized to make the propulsion system easy to maintain.
Paul English, head of maritime affairs at GE Power Conversion, said, "These orders clearly show that GE Electric Power has gained worldwide recognition in the field of LNG ships. We will continue to strengthen investment in innovation and competition programs to better meet shipowners. Requirements."
