China's pump valve product development has long been insufficient

In recent years, China's general machinery industry has made considerable progress, especially in the continuous improvement of product levels such as pumps and valves, and can provide some high-end products for the market, but there are still some products in the import state. According to the data provided by the China General Machinery Industry Association, the pump products imported by China this year include: hydraulic reciprocating piston pumps, other hydraulic reciprocating discharge pumps, and rotary axial piston pumps, with a rotational speed of 10,000 rpm. / Other centrifugal pumps, liquid pump parts, vacuum pumps, etc. Valve products mainly include: pressure reducing valve, hydraulic transmission valve, pneumatic transmission valve, safety valve or relief valve, valve parts and so on.

According to the analysis of the head of China General Machinery Industry Association, there are four main reasons for this phenomenon.

First, there is insufficient long-term investment in R&D. Domestic companies have a clear gap with some foreign developed companies in the concept of product technology development. The lack of investment in research funds and research and development funds has become an important factor that restricts the independent research and development of enterprises. According to the incomplete statistics of the pump industry, R&D capital investment accounts for less than 2% of the company's main operating revenue. Compared with foreign well-known companies, R&D capital investment in the entire industry is low. Relevant statistics show that the annual research and development expenses of China's pump industry are not as good as that of a foreign company.

Second, the capacity for independent innovation is weak. It is understood that China's machinery manufacturing industry, the introduction of technology digestion and absorption is slow, most of the company's technological innovation capability is not strong, the main mechanical products, 57% of the core technology sources rely on the introduction. Although most of the products in China's water pump manufacturing industry have basically achieved independent production and manufacturing, domestic companies are mostly responsible for low-end processing of products, and the breadth and depth of autonomy need to be improved. For example, nuclear-grade pump products in domestically-produced nuclear power plant equipment and high-pressure boiler feed water pump core packages in million-kilowatt supercritical and ultra-supercritical thermal power plant equipment still require most of the key core technologies. Depends on imports.

Third, customers are less willing to purchase domestic products. Although domestic products have reached the same level as foreign countries in terms of performance indicators, some customers are still willing to purchase foreign technology equipment, making it more difficult for China's first major technical equipment pump products to enter the market. Although many domestic high-end pump products have considerable technical levels, some use departments still refuse to use them due to lack of operating performance.

Fourth, the lack of industry common technology research. Due to restructuring, some research institutes facing industry services have become companies that are fighting for each other. The nature of the structure and the focus of their work have changed greatly. The technical support of the industry is weakening day by day, the development of new technologies and new processes is slow, and it is difficult for the standards such as design, technology, materials and manufacturing to interface with foreign countries.

In response, the person concerned put forward three suggestions: First, establish a new mechanism to encourage independent innovation of enterprises. According to the comprehensive planning and regional layout planning of the national pump and valve manufacturing industry, a group of regional leading technologies and product development laboratories, test bases and product development centers will be established. Relying on scientific and educational institutions with strong innovation capabilities, establish a diffusion site for scientific and technological achievements. Encourage and support the establishment of a pump and valve manufacturing technology research and development center.

Second, improve the technology promotion system. Rationally set up grass-roots manufacturing technology promotion organizations, and gradually establish a diversified manufacturing technology promotion system that is led by the national manufacturing technology promotion organization, with division of labor and cooperation, and service in place.

In addition, we must improve the technology training system and improve the protection system for intellectual property rights. Establish and improve the connection between the training service functions of universities, research institutes, and secondary vocational schools and basic education, and give full play to the strength of institutions at all levels. Further improve the market environment for new product innovation and actively promote the development of new products. Enterprises and research institutes have established and improved rules and regulations for the management of new products developed independently.
