Dongfeng high-end light engine usher in rapid development opportunities

ZD30 tends to localize

Xu Daqian stated that the ZD30 is a light engine of Nissan technology. In order to adapt to the domestic market and satisfy user needs, ZD30 has made adjustments in product structure and technology. “The first is to meet the domestic emission requirements. Fuel saving is also an important part of the content. After ZD30 was introduced into the domestic market, we have been doing this work.” Xu Daqian said.

According to reports, ZD30 engine is different from other light cast iron diesel engines, using a lightweight aluminum alloy cylinder head, aluminum alloy timing gear chamber and aluminum alloy oil pan, in exchange for 65 kg of weight reduction. In addition, ZD30 turbocharged architecture also introduced Bosch electronically controlled high pressure common rail injection system, injection pressure up to 1600bar, with DOHC dual overhead camshaft and four valves per cylinder design, making the ZD30's fuel consumption is lower than the same type of domestic engines 5%.

The ZD30 engine completely separates the injection pressure from the injection process in a closed-loop system consisting of a high-pressure oil pump, pressure sensor and ECU. The high-pressure fuel pump delivers high-pressure fuel to the public supply pipe, and the oil pressure in the public supply pipe is achieved. Precise control makes the pressure of the high pressure tubing independent of the engine speed, which can greatly reduce the variation of the diesel fuel supply pressure with the engine speed, thus overcoming the defects of the traditional diesel engine.

High-end light commercial vehicles are hot

“The production and sales base of China's high-end light commercial vehicles is still relatively small. In recent years, many companies have moved closer to this direction. This can be clearly seen from the data. Last year, we did not have much business. Fan, it can be seen that China's high-end light commercial vehicles have seen rapid development in the past two years, Xu Daqian told reporters.

This can also be seen in the Shanghai International Auto Show this year, some companies, such as Datong, Jianghuai and other companies have launched high-end light commercial vehicles, Chang'an bus also set up light truck division this year. "This is the progress of China's light commercial vehicles and the advancement of high-end light-duty engines. As we all know, the engine is the 'heart' of vehicles, and the pattern of high-end light engines is changing." Xu Daqian said: "Competition is a good thing. China's high-end light commercial vehicles started relatively late, and competition can invigorate the market."

When asked about the current high-end light vehicles, Xu Daqian told reporters: "We mainly support Nissan and Dongfeng internally, but we do not rule out selling in Dongfeng's non-competitive areas."

Strengthen oil-saving research and development

"We are participating for the second time. We have also won the Fuel Economy Award for the first time." Xu Daqian stated that the company has been working on engine fuel economy, including the process of matching the engine with the vehicle. This year's truck-fueled competition, two models of Dongfeng Cappute, also did a lot of work before the competition in the vehicle design and power matching.

“In the future market competition, fuel economy is certainly critical, and we will continue to work on the research and development of engine fuel economy performance to provide users with safer, more reliable and fuel-efficient engine products,” said Xu Daqian.
