GE receives equipment orders for 2 multi-purpose supply vessels

It is reported that these two next-generation supply vessels meet the requirements of the US Jones Act and were built by American Eastern Shipbuilding and delivered this year. Previously, GE had provided equipment for 20 ships built by Oriental Shipbuilding, paving the way for this cooperation.

GE's MKII MV3000 AFE is manufactured at the company's UK facility and features high power density and small footprint. In addition, GE will provide its latest SeaStream DP system with a new design, improved operational control interface, easier control of the ship, easier display of important information, and improved DP operational efficiency.

William Krewsky, President of Project and Engineering at Hornbeck Offshore, said that the new vessels are our flagship vessels and are pleased to adopt GE's latest and most advanced technology, which has already gained initial favor from the crew in the sea trial.

It is understood that GE will also provide training for crew members to use new technologies more efficiently.
