7 sets of large ethylene will be brought in at the same time

On December 18, 800,000-ton ethylene project in Wuhan started construction. At this point, China currently has 7 large-scale ethylene plants and 6.2 million tons of capacity at the same time. It is also very rare in the world. After the completion of the 7 ethylene projects, the gap in production and demand for ethylene in China will be further reduced, the layout of the ethylene industry will be more coordinated, and the product structure will become more reasonable.
The seven sets of large ethylene plants under construction have four sets of Sinopec: Tianjin million tons of ethylene, Fujian 800,000 tons of ethylene, Zhenhai million tons of ethylene, and Wuhan 800,000 tons of ethylene just started. After the completion of the 4th ethylene, the annual ethylene production capacity of Sinopec will increase to about 10 million tons in 2010. PetroChina's Dushanzi Xinjiang has 1 million tons of ethylene, Pengzhou, Sichuan 800,000 tons of ethylene and Fushun 800,000 tons of ethylene transformation. In addition, PetroChina also plans to start construction of 1.2 million tons ethylene project in Daqing. After completion of these projects, CNPC’s 2010 ethylene production capacity is expected to reach 5.83 million tons. These seven sets of ethylene have reached or exceeded the scale of 800,000 tons, and they have adopted the current world and domestic advanced technology, and the products are all urgently needed and high-grade varieties at home. The construction of 7 large ethylene projects meets the requirements of the national special plan for the medium and long term development of the ethylene industry.
In recent years, the ethylene industry in China has developed rapidly. The annual ethylene production has increased from 4.74 million tons in 2000 to 9.41 million tons in 2006, making it the second-largest ethylene producer in the world after the United States. However, it still cannot meet the needs of the national economic development. Relevant research shows that the gap between actual ethylene consumption and actual output in China is 58% in 2002, 56% in 2003, 53% in 2005, and 52% in 2006. The gap is completely relied on by imports to compensate for the gap between supply and demand. prominent.
Experts pointed out that after the completion of the 7 ethylene projects, China's ethylene production and demand gap is expected to further narrow and better meet the needs of national economic development. After the completion of the ethylene plant including the seven units, the ethylene production capacity in China will approach 18 million tons in 2010. The gap between actual ethylene consumption and actual production is expected to fall to the range of 42% to 48%.
After the completion of the 7 ethylene project, the layout of China's ethylene industry will be more optimized. Taking into account the convenience of transportation and market demand, China's ethylene project was mainly distributed in the Yangtze River Delta, Bohai Rim, Pearl River Delta and other coastal, eastern economically developed areas. The start-up construction of ethylene projects in Wuhan, Xinjiang Dushanzi, and Pengzhou, Sichuan, shows that while speeding up the development of the ethylene industry in the east, northeast and coastal areas, China has begun to take into consideration the layout of the ethylene industry in the central and western regions. This layout has been adapted to the country’s strategic plan to accelerate economic development in the central and western regions and will play an important role in promoting the coordinated development of the eastern, central and western regions of China. Around these large ethylene projects under construction, supporting downstream industrial clusters will be formed, which will greatly stimulate the economic development of the local and surrounding areas.
After the completion of the 7th ethylene project, the average size of ethylene plants in China will also be further expanded, energy and resource consumption will be further reduced, the technological level will be further improved, and the product structure will become more reasonable, which will enable China's ethylene industry to a higher level.
