December 2005 Overview of Production and Sales of the Automotive Industry – Production and Sales continued to show rapid growth over the previous month, with annual production and sales exceeding 5.7 million units.
In December, driven by the rapid growth in production and sales last month, the situation of automobile production and sales was still good this month. This month, the national automobile production and sales reached 562,200 vehicles and 620,900 vehicles respectively, which represented an increase of 6.82% and 12.91% respectively from the previous month, an increase of 39.20% and 27.44% respectively over the previous year. Among them, passenger car production and sales amounted to 407,900 units and 455,800 units, up by 9.94% and 15.79% respectively from the previous month, an increase of 58.66% and 38.33% year-on-year respectively; commercial vehicle production and sales were 154,200 units and 165,100 units, and production was down from the previous month. 0.62%, sales increased by 5.65% from the previous month, an increase of 5.09% and 4.68% respectively.
From January to December, the cumulative production and sales of automobiles were 5,077,700 and 575,82, an increase of 12.56% and 13.54% year-on-year, of which, the production and sales of passenger cars were 3,930,700 and 3,971,100, respectively, an increase of 19.73% and 21.40% year-on-year respectively; and the sales and sales of commercial vehicles were 177.70. Millions of vehicles and 1.7811 million vehicles were down 0.60% and 0.75% respectively year-on-year.
Passenger car production and sales: In the passenger vehicle sub-categories, from the output point of view, the basic passenger car (car) and crossover passenger car continued to show rapid growth compared with the previous month, and this month produced 29.35 respectively. 10,000 vehicles and 82,800 vehicles were respectively 10.78% and 11.21% higher than the previous month, an increase of 78.85% and 21.06% year-on-year respectively; the number of sport utility vehicles (SUVs) increased slightly compared with the previous month, and production was 1.98 this month. Ten thousand vehicles, an increase of 2.18% from the previous month and a year-on-year increase of 66.41%. Multifunctional passenger vehicles (MPVs) decreased slightly compared with the previous month. The monthly production was 11,800, a 3.78% decrease from the previous month and a year-on-year decrease of 6.88%. . From the perspective of sales volume, all varieties of passenger cars showed a different degree of growth. Among them, sports multi-purpose passenger vehicles and multi-function passenger vehicles witnessed the most significant increase. This month, they sold 22,900 and 17,900 vehicles, respectively, compared with the previous month. The growth rate was 39.65% and 31.18%, an increase of 72.45% and 45.85% year-on-year, respectively; basic passenger cars also maintained rapid growth, with 331,000 vehicles sold in the month, an increase of 15.88% over the previous month and an increase of 39.00% year-on-year. The growth rate of cross-type passenger vehicles was significantly lower than that of other passenger vehicles. From January to December, the total production and sales volume of basic passenger cars (sedans) was 2,727,700 and 2,877,400 units, an increase of 24.42% and 24.31% year-on-year respectively; the number of multi-function passenger vehicles (MPVs) was 155,100 units and 155,800 units. The year-on-year increase was 30.42% and 42.76% respectively; the cumulative production and sales of sport utility vehicles (SUVs) totaled 195,300 and 196,400, an increase of 15.48% and 20.63% year-on-year, respectively; cumulative production and sales of crossover passenger cars were 812,600 and 83.15. Ten thousand vehicles, an increase of 5.47% and 9.87% respectively.
Production and sales of commercial vehicles: In this month, among commercial vehicle models, except for the non-completed vehicles (truck chassis) of trucks and trucks, which showed a certain decline in production and sales compared with the previous month, other commercial vehicle varieties showed rapid growth. From a production point of view, the non-completed passenger and passenger vehicle (passenger chassis) and the previous month’s increase were among the top-ranked; from the sales point of view, the semi-trailer tractors performed the best, increasing by more than 75% compared with the previous month, significantly higher than Other commercial vehicle varieties. From January to December, the cumulative production and sales of passenger cars were 176,800 and 178,600, which was a year-on-year decrease of 2.60% and 2.34% respectively; the total production and sales of trucks were 1,162,400 and 1,163,400, an increase of 4.26% and 3.79% year-on-year, respectively; 5.65 million vehicles and 56,800 vehicles were produced and sold, a year-on-year decrease of 41.67% and 42.76% respectively; the number of non-holistic vehicles manufactured and sold was 90,200 and 90,500 vehicles respectively, the output increased by 0.04% year-on-year, and sales volume decreased by 0.15% year-on-year; 29.10 million vehicles and 297,700 vehicles were down by 4.34% and 2.98% respectively year-on-year.
Situation of key enterprises (groups): This month, sales of FAW, SAIC, Dongfeng, Chang'an and BAIC five groups continued to be far ahead of other companies, of which FAW and SAIC had sales of more than 100,000 vehicles this month. This month, the above-mentioned five companies sold 113,400 units, 110,300 units, 71,700 units, 64,700 units, and 55,200 units respectively, which represented an increase of 9.54%, 13.77%, 11.01%, 1.65%, and 10.53% respectively from the previous month. They increased by 4.27%, 24.04%, 54.23%, 26.77% and 20.53% respectively. This month, the five major groups sold a total of 415,300 vehicles, which accounted for 66.89% of the total sales of automobiles.
From January to December, of the top ten sales companies, FAW, SAIC, Dongfeng, Chang’an, and BAIC Group sold more than 500,000 vehicles, which reached 983,100 units, 917,500 units, 720,900 units, and 631,100 units respectively. With 597,300 units, compared with the previous year, Dongfeng and BAIC showed more obvious growth. In addition, sales of GAC, Hafei, Chery, JAC and Geely, which rank among the top five to ten, have maintained rapid growth compared with the previous year. From January to December, the above-mentioned five companies sold 237,200 units, 230,100 units, 189,200 units, 154,300 units, and 151,400 units respectively, which represented an increase of 13.17%, 12.16%, 118.51%, 18.00%, and 56.54% year-on-year respectively. From January to December, the above-mentioned 10 companies sold 4,802,200 vehicles, accounting for 83.71% of the total sales of automobiles.
