Gansu, China, July 13, China Petroleum and Petrochemical Research Institute of polypropylene catalyst and process engineering pilot base construction design review. PetroChina's first polypropylene catalyst pilot base is about to start construction.
The pilot base will be based on the RandBasell Spheripol process, taking into account the advantages of other processes. The plant will be built next to the 40,000 tpa polypropylene plant in the petrochemical plant of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company, China, with a scale of 75 kilograms of polypropylene per hour, using a continuous operation mode of production. The raw materials, public works, and various auxiliary facilities supporting the facilities will be based on Lanzhou Petrochemical Company.
It is understood that the pilot plant at this site is capable of performing pilot tests of polypropylene homopolymers, impact copolymers, binary random and terpolymer random copolymers (ethylene-propylene-butene-1). Mainly to carry out the bulk test polypropylene catalyst, catalyst components and polymerization of raw materials for pilot evaluation, the development of new polypropylene products, propylene polymerization process optimization studies. After completion, it can undertake the development of a new type of polypropylene catalyst for China Petroleum, the research and development of an intermediate-scale propylene polymerization process, and the research and development task for the trial production of new grade polypropylene products.
It is understood that after the completion of the polypropylene catalyst and process engineering pilot base, it will conduct a pilot scale up and evaluation study of polypropylene catalysts, evaluation of various raw materials for polypropylene polymerization, and a pilot scale-up and process of new polypropylene polymerization processes. Research on optimization, polypropylene polymerization reactors, and polymerization engineering provides hardware support for the development of new polypropylene products.
