Nitrogen oxide pollution control technology has high nitrogen removal efficiency

The nitrogen oxide pollution control and treatment technology organized and researched and developed by Prof. Huang Shaobin of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, South China University of Technology, has passed the results appraisal organized by the Science and Technology Department of Guangdong Province. The technology has the advantages of high denitrification efficiency, low investment and operating costs, no secondary pollution, and has a wide application prospect.

This achievement adopts self-designed biological filtration system and technology to remove nitrogen oxides from the flue gas of power plant coal-fired boilers. The biological filtration system has a continuous and stable operation for 140 days with a nitrogen oxide concentration of 400-800 mg/Nm3 and a treatment capacity of more than 218 Nm3/h, and the removal rate has reached over 85%.
