The owner of the hostel had no way of knowing what happened in 102 rooms and could not stop the damage. As for Chen Qiang's false claim that Tao Ying’s appendicitis attack was to be sent to the hospital and that blood was not reported the next day, these acts occurred after Tao Ying was killed and were not necessarily linked to Tao Ying’s damage.
The court finally ruled that Tao Ying’s death compensation award was 1,600,080 yuan, funeral expenses 1,5833.5 yuan, and accommodation fees were 700 yuan, a total of 1,76,653.5 yuan. The owner of the hostel was responsible for 20% of the 35,329 yuan.
